DESIGNHOUSE is dedicated to creating jobs and opportunities to revitalize local manufacturingthrough design. We collaborate with communities, schools and universities to further the knowledge, skills and careers for students and young innovators.
Following our design jams, which are attended by leading design professionals as mentors, we work with students to develop product concepts and bring them to life.

FALL 2014 STUDENT COLLABORATORS:
VIRGINIA TECH INDUSTRIAL DESIGN STUDENTS/ CHICAGO STUDIO PROJECT
A talented group of industrial designers from Virginia Tech spent their fall term in Chicago to get hands-on experience in the field. The students have been working with DesignHouse since September and are led by Andrew Balster, Program Director of the Chicago Studio project.

Summer 2014 Northwestern University Masters Students: Brittany Murphy (L), Brandon Williams (R)
Graduate students Brandon Williams and Brittany Murphy brought their expertise as engineers and human-centered designers to the development process over the summer following Design Jam 001. They were able to help bring design thinking to local manufacturer SKOL and use their skills in prototyping and engineering/design to create local impact. Both are students in the Master of Science in Engineering Design & Innovation program at Northwestern University.
